Out There is for gay and bisexual men 16 -25 Years

Out There! is a workshop for young guys who are into other guys.

A fun and friendly workshop that uses discussions and activities to explore the issues that matter to young gay, bi and same sex attracted men in and around Canberra. Out There! covers coming out, self-esteem, homophobia, sexual health including HIV, relationships, negotiating safer sex, LGBTI networks in Canberra, and where and how to meet other guys. It is held over either two Saturdays or four weekday evenings.

AIDS Action Council offers a range of free peer based workshops for members of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and sex and gender diverse communities.

The workshops provide an opportunity for our community to come together in small groups with peer facilitators and discuss relevant issues and life experiences with the aim of learning about our bodies, our relationships and our health in a safe and inclusive environment. This workshop will focus on building positive attitudes and self confidence, fostering positive self image, keeping perspective, being proactive and optimistic, letting go of past negative experiences and resentment.

This workshop will focus on communicating what you want and don’t want, negotiating consent, rejecting and rejection and listening more effectively.

Educating skills and safe sex

Educating skills and safe sex

This workshop will focus on educating Skills and Safe Sex, PrEP and UVL, review and discuss the range of safe sex strategies for HIV and STIs, how to communicate and negotiate these strategies. Also sex skills - where to get decent information and explore new things.

Negotiating Relationships

Negotiating Relationships

This workshop will focus on negotiating relationships. Discuss different relationship styles: friends with benefits, lovers, and partnerships open and monogamous, and group play. Negotiating sexual needs in relationship, changes over time, keeping things interesting, dealing with breakups.

Online Pleasure & Safety

Online Pleasure & Safety

Wed 12th July 6.00 - 8.30 pm

Focus on Online Dating and Hook-up Apps – how to negotiate the challenges and opportunities of online hook-up aps, including discussing HIV status on apps. Discussion will promote having a healthy relationship with Apps, how to make meaningful connections and use apps for your needs.
