The AIDS Action Council will be hosting a presentation called "Negotiated Safety: A Clinical Perspective".

The presentation will be given by Ruth Hennessy, a Clinical Psychologist with the Albion Street Centre, Surry Hills.
Ruth will focus on the sexual agreements around risk between couples, identifying sexual partners and associated sexual activities, use of condoms, HIV testing and seroconcordance (sex between couples of the same HIV status). The presentation will take approximately 1 hour.
Ruth has worked at Albion Street Centre for approximately 8 years as a clinical psychologist and the psychology unit manager. She has particular interest in HIV serodiscordant relationships and teaches in all aspects of HIV counselling, especially around HIV pre and post test counselling. She also teaches brief interventions for HIV prevention to other health professionals. She has also worked overseas, including in-country projects around HIV prevention with AusAID and the World Health Organisation in Papua New Guinea and Laos.
