Important
Are you concerned you may have been exposed to HIV within the last 72 hours (or 3 days)?
There is a treatment called PEP (Post Exposure Prophylaxis) that may prevent HIV transmission but you need to act fast.
Visit the Accident and Emergency Department of the Canberra Hospital or Calvary Hospital as soon as possible. They will be able to assess your risk and prescribe you PEP if appropriate.

Your GP
Any general practitioner can perform a sexual health screen, and this is the most convenient option for many people. There may be fees, altough some of it may be covered by Medicare. See your GP for more information.
We recommend that men who have sex with men print out and take along to your GP the current STI testing guidelines (available here) to ensure that your check-up includes all the currently recommended tests.
