We're excited to welcome Brunswick Aces as a first-time sponsor for CBR Fair Day in 2019. The Brunswick Team have shared some insight into why they think supporting CBR Fair Day is so important. Read more below!
Why do you feel it’s valuable to sponsor / participate in Fair Day?
Brunswick Aces was created to promote inclusivity and connections in all social gatherings, that once upon a time would have limited the enjoyment of moderators or sober socialisers. Key community moments, such as Fair Day, bring everyone together, so providing something to drink that everyone can enjoy is very important to us.
In the lead up to CBR Fair Day we sat down with the team at the Office for LGBTIQ+ Affairs to talk about the importance of pride events, and the values and experiences that put the 'CBR' in CBR Fair Day. Read more below, and keep an eye out for the team from the Office on November 2!
AIDS Action Council, along with our sponsors and event partners are proud to announce Jordan Raskopoulos will be joining us at CBR Fair Day as our Special Host!
The Future is U’ is a project funded by the ACT Government’s Capital of Equality Grants Program and managed by The Street Theatre in collaboration with the AIDS Action Council. The aim of the project is to create a new theatre work about the effects of HIV on the lives of Canberrans both in the past and in the present, and that looks toward the future. It is an important work to create now, in the age of PrEP and U=U, as people’s attitudes toward the virus undergo a radical shift, a shift that has changed many people’s behaviours. Award-winning ACT playwright David Atfield has been commissioned to create the work, which will draw on the lived experience of Canberrans to explore changing attitudes to HIV, stigma and sexual/psychosocial behaviour.
Silver Rainbow, the National LGBTI Health Alliance’s ageing & aged care project would like represent the voices of older LGBTI people & elders in the Royal Commission into Aged Care.
